How to Care for Your Nelrosa PiecesHow should I store my accessories? To keep dust off your accessories, store them in the original Nelrosa box they arrived in. This protects both delicate silk flowers and metal elements from moisture and damage. How do I care for silk flowers? All Nelrosa silk flowers are handmade from specially stiffened, hot-formed silk. They should not be wet, washed, or chemically cleaned. If necessary, gently clean with an eraser or a slightly damp tissue — we cannot guarantee perfect appearance afterward. Do not place objects on the flowers, tug, or crush them, as this may cause wrinkling and fraying. Always store in the original Nelrosa box. How do I care for gold-plated and silver-plated jewelry?Nelrosa jewelry is plated with a thick layer of 24-carat gold (approximately 1 micron) — significantly more than the industry standard of 0.1–0.3 microns found in most mass-market pieces. Over time, the metal may develop a slight patina, giving a vintage effect. This process can be accelerated by contact with perfumes, high humidity, or heat — it is a natural process and not covered by warranty. We recommend gentle cleaning with gold and silver jewelry polishing cloths. How do I care for wired and braided headpieces? Our braided headpieces are flexible and can be gently adjusted to fit different hairstyles. Bend them carefully to avoid breaking any wired elements. Do not apply hair sprays or styling products directly onto the piece after wearing — these can cause corrosion and dull the finish. How do I care for veils? After unpacking, veils may need steaming before wearing. Use a steamer for best results, or mist lightly with water and allow to dry naturally. If using an iron, set it to the lowest possible temperature and press very gently. We recommend an anti-static spray to prevent static electricity. Materials & QualityIs Nelrosa jewelry hypoallergenic?Yes. All Nelrosa jewelry is made from hypoallergenic materials: 925 sterling silver and pieces plated with 24-carat gold. We do not use base metals or thin coatings that can cause skin reactions. What makes Nelrosa gold plating different from standard gold-plated jewelry?Nelrosa pieces are plated with approximately 1 micron of 24-carat gold — far thicker than the 0.1–0.3 micron coating found on most commercially available gold-plated jewelry. The result is a deeper, warmer gold color, better durability, and greater resistance to everyday wear. What materials does Nelrosa use?We work with natural freshwater pearls, 925 sterling silver, 24-carat gold plating, Swarovski and Preciosa crystals, and hand-cut silk flowers made using a technique over 100 years old. All materials are selected for quality, longevity, and skin safety. Where is Nelrosa jewelry made?Every Nelrosa piece is designed and handcrafted in our atelier in Poland. Design, production, and quality control all happen in-house — we do not outsource manufacturing. |
